The Secretary-General of the Saudi Export Development Authority "Saudi Exports", Mr. Saleh Al-Solami stressed that the Authority participation in the 44th Baghdad International Exhibition running from Oct. 21 to 30 stems from its role in encouraging Saudi products to access international markets.
Al-Solami clarified that the Kingdom, through its participation, stresses the political and economic openness between the two countries; its interest in putting its best companies from various sectors into the Iraqi market in order to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries and to highlight the quality of Saudi products and their competitiveness with international products; and the capacity of Saudi companies to efficiently and effectively cover the markets of neighboring states. This step underscores, he added, "Saudi Exports" desire to contribute to boosting the national economy by focusing on non-oil revenues, diversifying the sources of income to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030 and encourage national enterprises to participate in the exhibitions organized by "Saudi Exports".
Eng. Al-Solami also noted that the decision to head towards the Iraqi market was the result of discussions held by "Saudi Exports" with a group of exporters to identify and overcome some of the major challenges they have been facing and to reach some means to facilitate the arrival of the Saudi product to the Iraqi market. He pointed out that the Authority strives to provide all the tools and means that contribute to overcoming the obstacles that hinder the arrival of the national product to compete internationally in order to develop Saudi non-oil exports in the Iraqi market in particular and the international markets in general.
The Authority aims through this participation to discover market opportunities for Saudi products in the promising Iraqi market and to facilitate the export procedures to the country in cooperation with the relevant authorities. This year's participation in the Baghdad International Exhibition comes under the slogan "Industries That Transcend Borders and Bring Peoples Closer" and is one important participation that will contribute to the establishment of economic trade relations between Saudi Arabia and Iraqi.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Export Development Authority is taking part in the 10-day 44th Baghdad International Exhibition with as many as 60 of the best Saudi companies from various industrial and service sectors, presenting within the Saudi pavilion some national outstanding quality products.
"Saudi Exports" employs all its capabilities to improve the efficiency of the export environment; build export capacities; promote exporters and their products; create export opportunities; develop programs for exporters; encourage them; promote Saudi products in international markets; and increase their competitive quality in order to help them access these international markets in a way that reflects the position and quality of the Saudi product and to serve as a tributary to the national economy. The work of "Saudi Exports" comes as a translation of the Saudi Vision 2030 and a response to the aspirations of the wise leadership towards diversifying the sources of income for the national economy.
