Riyadh, October 2017 -
The Saudi Export Development Authority "Saudi Exports" will take part in the GITEX Technology Week 2017, which will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from October 8 to 12. The Saudi Pavilion organized by "Saudi Exports" will include 31 national companies specialized in communication and information technology.
This participation comes in response to the great leap that Saudi high-tech exports witnessed in 2016 with an increase of 14.2%, the highest since 2012, due to the high performance of national exports during this period.
Moreover, GITEX Technology represents the world's third largest technology exhibition with more than 146,000 annual visitors and ICT experts from more than 144. The exhibition serves as a platform to showcase the latest solutions and technologies from the ICT industry in several technical sectors. This comes as the fourth participation of its kind for the Saudi Pavilion in this exhibition, with the significant impact it has in boosting the Kingdom's technical exports.
It is worth mentioning that Saudi Arabia has made significant progress in the United Nations E-Government Survey to rank 36th in 2014 up from 90th in 2004, thanks to some e-services that contributed to such progress, including recruitment, job search, e-learning, traffic, passport services and issuance of business records.
It is noteworthy that "Saudi Exports" employs all its capabilities to improve the efficiency of the export environment; build export capacities; promote exporters and their products; create export opportunities; develop programs for exporters; encourage them; promote Saudi products in international markets; and increase their competitive quality in order to help them access these international markets in a way that reflects the position and quality of the Saudi product and to serve as a tributary to the national economy. The work of "Saudi Exports" comes as a translation of the Saudi Vision 2030 and a response to the aspirations of the wise leadership towards diversifying the sources of income for the national economy.
