The Saudi Export Development Authority recently concluded its participation in the Unaizah Dates Festival, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce in Unaizah, as part of its continuous interest in promoting export culture in all industrial and service sectors.

"Saudi Exports" contributed with a workshop and a lecture that impressed many interested people from different parts of the Kingdom. The lecture entitled "Dates Export Opportunities" highlighted the export opportunities for dates and related industries and provided an overview of Saudi date exports and their major target markets, On the other hand, the workshop entitled "How to Export Dates?" introduced date export procedures and major obstacles as well as date packaging and clarified the standards and specifications required for their export along with their market analysis, competitors, clients and development of client relations.

It is worth mentioning that the compound annual growth rate of Saudi date exports during the period (2012-2016) witnessed a rise of 20%. Saudi export accounted for 14% (≈ SAR 4 billion) of their global market in 2016 compared to 9% (≈ SAR 3 billion) in 2012, indicating a high level of global demand for dates.

It is worth mentioning that "Saudi Exports" employs all its capabilities towards Advocating export ecosystem efficiency; building export capacities; promoting exporters and their products; encouraging Saudi products and boosting their competitive quality in order to help them access international markets in a way that reflects the position of the Saudi product and serve as a tributary to the national economy. The work of "Saudi Exports" comes as a translation of the Saudi Vision 2030 and a response to the aspirations of the wise leadership towards diversifying the sources of income of the national economy.
