session of the exhibition, which will be held at the Exhibition and Convention
Center in Shanghai, and includes industry, tourism and services sectors with
more than 100 countries and 50 national pavilions. The Kingdom participates in
the exhibition with a national pavilion organized by the Saudi Export
Development Authority "SAUDI EXPORTS", which includes a number of government
agencies and national companies from different sectors, in the presence of
Deputy Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources for Industry Affairs
Eng. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Abdul Karim and Secretary
General of the Saudi Export Development Authority Eng. Saleh bin Shabab
Al-Solami. The aim of this partnership is to promote trade and economic
cooperation between the two countries and to open new export channels for Saudi
companies in the international markets, and to complement the role of "SAUDI EXPORTS" in
promoting Saudi products and services and increasing their market share in the
international markets, thus enhancing their contribution to the gross domestic
product.
The exhibition consists of the trade and
investment pavilion of the countries, the business and trade projects' region
and indicates the Chinese government's move towards a new stage of opening up
globally. This is considered as a historic opportunity for companies to take
their first steps to enter the huge Chinese market, and explore opportunities
for cooperation, especially as China is the country with the largest population
and the second largest importer and consumer in the world and it is expected
that the exhibition will attract about 150 thousand buyers from more than 100
countries and regions.
For his part, the General Secretary of the Saudi Export Development
Authority, Eng. Saleh Al-Solami, stressed that the participation of "SAUDI EXPORTS" at
the China International Import Fair stems from its role in encouraging Saudi
products to reach the international markets and increase the competitive
quality of local products, reflecting the position of the Saudi product. He
pointed out that the Kingdom, throughout its participation in the exhibition,
emphasizes the strengthening of trade and economic cooperation between the two
countries, and the interest of the Kingdom to enter the elite of its companies
from various sectors to the Chinese market to increase the volume of trade
exchange between the Kingdom and China, indicating that the balance of non-oil
trade between Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China in 2017 amounted
to 107 billion SAR, with Saudi exports to China worth 538 billion SAR and
imports from the State of China estimated at 568 billion SAR. Saudi non-oil
exports for the first half of 2018 amounted to 16 billion SAR.
